June Update
A quiet month on the game front, looks like this week may be cancelled as was last week.
Carpet Court United playing 2nd division Eastern League have recently returned to form, of note a 7 nil demolition of IR26, followed by a close loss 2-1 to Wainui (dubious goal from a corner appeared to have not crossed the line, but was awarded), then the following week a hard fought 1-0 win over competition leaders Campion College, Coach Alan Knight getting the decider with a great header near the end of the first half.
United's 3rd division side have had a tough time of it also, coming up against a lot of sides with an element of youth to give them extra pace and fitness advantage over our boys, who are definitely maturing. Wainui beat them soundly, however they registered wins over BHS and Campion. Wairoa could've gone either way, but it went Wairoa's way.
Bees have yet to win or draw a match or even score a goal, but they keep turning up to games and outnumber Wasps at training, they give 100% at games and keep a positive view on things, even a 6-0 loss to Marist was a great team performance, they won first round much by double figures - not this time. Keep it up girls.
Wasps have improved against weaker teams, thrashing Campion 6-0. Some great team work and neat finishing including two well taken headed goals. Disappointing to go 3-0 against GGHS after holding them 1-1 in first round match, but they are young, fit and improving faster. One round to go and sitting 4th on table is definitely positive.
